Alterations to a terraced farm cottage to improve the internal layout and provide an additional bedroom, bathroom and utility room.

An extension to the rear was created to provide an additional bedroom, bathroom and utility room with the addition of a new central staircase to access all parts of the upper floor. This enabled the existing two staircases to be removed to increase the usable floor area in the ground and upper floors.

With sustainability high on the list of the client’s requirements, the construction utilised wide timber i-studs and i-beams with Warmcell insulation and high specification timber windows and doors to create a highly insulated breathable wall and roof structure. Untreated European Larch cladding has been left untreated to weather naturally.
