The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) was founded in 1916 as the professional body for all chartered architects in Scotland and is the foremost architectural institute in the country dealing with architecture and the built environment.

The ARB is the UK’s statutory regulator of architects. They keep a public register – which is searchable online – of around 33,000 architects. Every architect on their register has met the standards that we set for education, trainingand practice.

Architect in the House is an scheme run by Shelter and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). They match homeowners with a local chartered architect who has donated an hour of their time for a design consultation. In exchange, the homeowner can make a suggested donation of £40 to Shelter.
